Sonder Welcome

Sonder Welcome

Sonder is a hospitality company that combines the best of hotels with the feel of a private apartment. They provide short and long term accommodations with 24/7 digital support support in 39 cities worldwide.

Sonder needed a comprehensive welcome package that would work in lieu of a formal concierge experience, the welcome package needed to provide all necessary information for the guest upon entering the space. We worked with Sonder to develop the concept of a welcome moment where guests dropped bags and hung up coats while orienting themselves with the Sonder.

Project Role

Industrial Design
Manufacturing Coordination

Central to enabling this welcome moment was the development of hardware that would provide guests the hardware to unburden themselves while informing them of the top level information they would need to make their stay enjoyable.

Key Features

The Sonder welcome shelf needed to provide a space to:

  • inform guests of room info

  • accommodate keys

  • present guest arrival gifts

  • serve as a space for pause while arriving and departing

The shelf featured featured a slotted card holder set at a distance to create a specific angle for ease of read, a shelf space for room keys, and hooks for umbrellas and coats.
